The Baskimo is an intentional cross, not a kennel-club breed with a single written standard. Two dogs from the same pairing can differ in size, coat, and temperament, because each puppy inherits a different mix of traits from the contributing breeds.

A Baskimo mixes the American Eskimo Dog with a Basset Hound. Expect a longer, plush coat on a low, heavy-boned body, a plumed tail, and ears that fold. Color is often white or white with hound markings.
The Eskimo side barks; the Basset side follows a trail. Shedding is seasonal and real. They are companion hounds more than sled dogs. A secure yard and daily brushing when the undercoat drops keep the mix manageable.
